RSPCA Face Charity Commision

The RSPCA has been reported to the Charity Commission following the controversial prosecution of the Heythrop Hunt. A combination of peers and MPs wrote to the Charity Commission expressing concerns that the prosecution was politically motivated and whether it was in the public’s interest to bring the prosecution. The MP for Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire, Simon Hart said  “Our complaint has never been about how the RSPCA behaves but how it exercises its powers.”

Personally whilst I am not a member or supporter of a hunt I disagree with the Hunting Act of 2004, which I feel was a deliberate piece of class warfare by the Labour government. I also disagree with the notion that Charities should be operating as political entities and using donations to advance a political agenda.
